The acid- and lignin-free Photo Rag® Pearl meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance. 'Rag' in Hahnemuhles naming convention is reserved for cotton base, so Photo Rag Utrasmooth is a cotton fiber paper with a full smooth matte finish coating. In combination with the pearl-gloss premium inkjet coating, it produces outstanding FineArt prints with exceptional reproduction of colour and detail, deep blacks and beautiful contrasts. It was still set to automatic switch when I printed on FineArt Baryta after the Photo Rag Satin print. So now I am a little confused about the printers behaviour. The delicately defined, even surface texture gives the paper a lovely soft feel and the print a stunning sense of depth. So, it appears that the two baryta papers (and all of Hahnemühles glossy papers but the Photo Rag Satin) should be using PK ink. The natural white artists’ paper contains no optical brighteners and is characterised by its warm shade of white. In Media Type (Qimage One) I can set either ' Highest Density Fine Art Paper' (or other printer own), OR 'HFA Photo Rag' (specific Hahnemühle for Photo Rag. Using Hahnemühles own Paper ICC Color profiles. The combination of the cotton artist paper and the high-gloss inkjet coating lends FineArt prints a striking character with a beautiful, elegant sheen, without glare. 1 Using Pro1000 / Qimage One and Hahnemühle Fine Art papers (Photo Rag 308 and Photo Rag Baryta).
The barium sulphate in the coating makes Photo Rag® Baryta a popular alternative to analogue baryta paper.

Printed on a few different Canon papers so far (Pro Platinum / Plus Glossy II and Photo Paper Pro II). For the printer calibration i decided on media type Premium Luster Photo. I received my Canon Pro-1000 printer a week ago.
